A series of 14 video modules on the life and legacy of Ralph Bunche will be available to teachers, scholars and special interest groups in time for the 2003 Bunche Centenary. Based on the acclaimed documentary film, Ralph Bunche: An American Odyssey, which premiered as a PBS prime-time special in 2001, the series fills in parts of the Bunche narrative that were not covered in the 2-hour TV film and explores other important areas and issues in greater depth. The modules, which will very in length between 20 and 40 minutes, are designed not only for high school social studies but also for college level courses in the U.S. and world history, political science, international relations, peace and conflict management and African American Studies. Like the two-hour documentary, the series is based on the biography of Ralph Bunche by Brian Urquhart and will be narrated by Sidney Poitier. It is being produced by William Greaves Productions with funding from the Carnegie Corporation of New York and Camille and William H. Cosby, Jr. Please find below the list of the modules
with the approximate running time of each. The modules will be available
for purchase individually or as a series. For more information about the video modules, please contact Louise Arthur at William Greaves Productions, 212-2665-6150, fax: 212-315-0027, email: info@williamgreaves.com.
